The event occurred last week: a statewide conference I coordinate that's engaged a huge amount of my energy and attention over the past several months. While I can understand anxiety about something that hasn't happened yet, I'm not sure how to make sense of being anxious retrospectively. The dreams are like obsessive repetitions of structures-- for instance, putting events into time slots-- that seem more abstract than concrete and specific. It's as if the flow of energy directed toward the conference has nowhere else to go now that it's over. I'd be grateful for any ideas about what else these retrospective anxiety dreams might be about.Abuladeenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15254337323076074955noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-925549664214256461.post-86473379616360497552009-05-12T11:04:00.000-04:002009-05-12T11:04:00.000-04:00This is very helpful. Just 2 days ago I dreamed I was sitting on a public toilet in full view of anyone who walked by, right after in waking life I had started to get some comments on my new blog. Yes, I was "going public" more than I had before, which I realized, but your point about people's reactions was something I hadn't thought of. In my dream some people ignored me, & some actually wanted to help me by giving me toilet paper!

Thanks also for the reminder of classroom dreams preparing us for a coming test, as I have these dreams a LOT, often about a class you're teaching. I appreciate you!
NancyNancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05156176014470929754noreply@blogger.com
